Goalkeeper New York Rangers Igor Shesterkin noted that in the NHL he feels more free than he was in the KHL.
— I became more confident in the playoffs. Usually when I played in the KHL, during the game you couldn’t talk to anyone, you couldn’t look at anyone, because the head coach might be unhappy.
But here everyone in the playoffs was trying to tell me something, and I could look at my team and smile. It’s freer here, so I don’t look like a robot,” Shesterkin said.
Last season, Shesterkin won the Vezina Trophy, an annual award given to a National Hockey League goaltender who played at least 25 regular season games and displayed the best game among all competitors.
