“No tournament can be beautiful without ours. All the nations of the world understand that Russia is the first power in hockey. And it has been like that since the first Olympics and the first world championships. Therefore, the good sense must prevail,” Yakushev said. .

On September 30, at the IIHF congress, it was decided to return the hockey teams of Russia and Belarus to the divisions of the World Championship in which they were before the suspension. At the moment, it’s unclear exactly when Russians and Belarusians will be able to participate in the World Cup, but it’s expected to happen at the 2024 World Cup in the Czech Republic.
