Washington Capitals forward Malensteen out 6-8 weeks with finger injury

Washington Capitals forward Beck Malensteen will miss six to eight weeks recovering from a finger injury.

Malensteen injured his left finger in the first period of an NHL regular season game against the Vegas Golden Knights (2:3 OT). The forward blocked a shot on goal and couldn’t continue the game.

— Beck Malensteen, who was injured Nov. 1 against Vegas, had surgery for a broken finger in his left hand. Given the nature of this procedure, Malensteen will miss 6-8 weeks.

This season, Malensteen, 24, has scored two points (1 puck + 1 assist) in five games.
