National Hockey League (NHL) club”Ottawa Senators on the site announced the start of the process of selling the team.
“It was a necessary and prudent decision to reach out to stakeholders who can show us their vision for the team’s future. The condition of any sale would be that the team remain in Ottawa,” the statement said.
Rumors of a possible sale to Ottawa arose months after team owner Eugene Melnick passed away on March 28. The Canadian club was inherited by Melnik’s two daughters.
Previous media reported that actor Ryan Reynolds was interested in buying the Senators.
