Athletistic/Hockey. ESPN reporter Greg Wyshinsky recounted how Alexander Ovechkin discovered Gordie Howe’s NHL scoring record for one club.

“Ovechkin has gotten to the point where he’s setting records he doesn’t even know.

He reached his final milestone when he scored his 787th goal for the Washington Capitals, surpassing Howe’s record. Gordie Howe has held the record since 1971 with 786 goals in 1,687 games.

Ovechkin was unaware of this record. Neither the coach nor his teammates told him about it. He said he saw it on social media in an infographic,” Ovechkin said, as quoted by ESPN.
