The Blue-Yellows defeated Hungary in the bronze medal match
Ukrainian national ice hockey team took third place in Tamas Sharkozy International Tournament in Budapest.
In the match for bronze medals, the blue-yellows defeated the hosts of the event, Hungary, with a score of 2:1. Ukraine scored two goals in the first period: Trakht and Krivoshapkin scored.
The answer from Hungary was only in the third period, when Sharpatky scored a goal eight minutes before the end of playing time. Until the end of the meeting, the team of Vadim Shakhraichuk managed to keep the advantage of one puck and win bronze medals.
Recall that in the group stage, Ukraine twice reached overtime. In the first match, the blue-yellows defeated Italy (2:1), but in the second game, the Ukrainians lost to Slovenia (1:2).
In May, the team of Vadim Shakhraichuk took third place in the IB division of the World Championship, in which they will perform next year.
