Weisfeld thinks Ovechkin can beat Gordie Howe this season

Public official and well-known hockey expert Leonid Weisfeld sure the Washington Capitals forward Alexander Ovechkin already this season will be able to bypass Gordie Howe in the list of top scorers in the history of the NHL.

Currently, Ovechkin has 789 goals to his name and is third in the league scoring charts. The Russians are ahead of Canadians Gordie Howe (801) and Wayne Gretzky (894). The 37-year-old Russian striker scored another goal in the match against St. Louis. Before that, Ovechkin couldn’t reach the opponent’s goal four games in a row.

– I didn’t watch the game. I know Ovechkin scored one goal and two assists. Well, that means he played well. By the way, in previous matches he also looked good. And the scoreless streak… It’s not a machine to put on every game! Will he beat Gordie Howe this season? If there are no injuries then yes,” Weisfeld told .
