“Mingachev joined the game even in the penalty area, that’s why he scored the winning goal” – CSKA coach Fedorov

Head Coach CSKA Sergei Fedorov Responding to a question from a correspondent, he praised the army forward Takhira Mingacheva for the fact that he immediately joined the attack after the withdrawal and completed it with a goal.

On Friday, CSKA beat Spartak in the Fonbet KHL Championship away match (4:2). The army team conceded first, but turned it around in the second period and took it to victory.

“I didn’t like the first half, we shouldn’t start games like that,” Fedorov said. – But the second and third periods went as planned. Although the opponent showed very fast hockey, especially when he had the puck. Derby is a hockey party, it was very pleasant to be in such an atmosphere.

– Just in the second period, CSKA conceded the puck after two incredible rebounds, which allowed Spartak to even the score. However, your team didn’t even flinch. Have you ever succeeded in instilling in CSKA the self-confidence of reinforced concrete?

“We would really like that to be in the minds of our players. Since it seems to you from the outside, at least three, at least four ricochets. Hockey is such a game that the most ridiculous pucks can fly into your goal. But the game continues. And above all, we have something to build our game on in times like these. So your words would be in the ears of God. I would like our guys to have confidence in them every moment of the game. The team has character, winning experience, talent too. I don’t want to say strong sentences, but I’m glad the guys in this situation got their bearings correctly.

– Mingachev scored the winning goal. Before that, Tahir was in the penalty area. But after jumping from there, he immediately joined the attack and scored. If we assess the abduction and the goal as a whole, what more did it deserve – criticism or praise?

– Why it was removed, I did not see, but we are working to reduce the number of withdrawals. And their number is decreasing. And the fact that Tahir scored, of course, we evaluate positively. He got his bearings very quickly when he returned to the ice. While still sitting in the penalty area, I joined the game and was ready to come out and do something. That is to say that he correctly perceived his withdrawal. He had two minutes to reflect and draw the right conclusions. Sometimes that translates into goals.

CSKA meet Spartak for the third time this season. In the first match, the army team won – 3:2 OT. In the second meeting, Spartak took revenge – 2: 1. In the third, CSKA again won – 4:2. In all three derbies, Spartak had different main coaches – Boris Mironov, Alexei Zavarukhin and Igor Grishin.
