Athletistic/Hockey. Russian goaltender “New York Islanders” Ilya Sorokin recognized as the first star of the day in the NHL.

In a regular season game against the Edmonton Oilers, he made 49 saves, his second shutout of the season and 12th of his career. Earlier in the NHL, the Russian didn’t think so many shots in a single game.

The second star of the day was San Jose Sharks forward Timo Mayer, who scored a hat-trick against the Seattle Cracken.

The third star was Arizona Coyotes goaltender Karel Weimalka, who kept a clean sheet against the Carolina Hurricanes with 36 saves.
