“We didn’t have enough emotions and strength” – Avangard head coach on first loss in 10 KHL games

Vanguard Head Coach Mikhail Kravets explained Spartak’s home defeat by the fact that the opponent played more emotionally and faster.

On Wednesday, Omsk lost to Spartak in the KHL Fonbet Championship home game (1-3). Avangard players were sent off nine times, thanks to which the Muscovites twice converted the majority. The Omsk club’s nine-game winning streak has been interrupted.

— I want to thank the team for a good winning streak, which ended today. Today Spartak crushed us, were quicker with the puck and more emotional. We had to use our chances at the start of the game, then the match could have turned out differently. And so Spartak created more chances.

We didn’t have enough emotions and strength. We tried to remove the game, but annoying deletions at the end prevented. Still, a goal in the last second of the match is very important for our team. This suggests that the guys have character and are fighting to the bitter end. A good team analyzes the loss and moves on to the next game with their heads held high. I am sure it will be so,” Kravets told reporters.

– Are there complaints to the players for throwing the puck when the team is already playing in the minority?

– What are the complaints? The situation has therefore changed. And before that, the same minority player helped us several times. Looks like today isn’t our day. But we have to make our own days.
