Athletistic/Hockey. Czech New Jersey Devils goaltender Vitek Vanechek commented on his eight saves from Washington Capitals forward Alexander Ovechkin. The game ended in a 5-1 victory for New Jersey in the NHL regular season game, with Vanechek saving 37 of 38 shots.

“I was a little nervous before the game. To be honest, playing against the Capitals for the first time was something special. I know they’re a very good team, but I tried my best to help New Jersey to win the game.

Ovi is a very good player and I know he wanted to score a goal for me, so I was very focused trying to hit everything,” Vanechek said.
