Switzerland remains undefeated at the Ice Hockey World Championship. In the final match of the group round, the team defeated the German national team in shootouts. Thus, the Swiss won in group A, and a point recorded in this match allowed the Germans to finish in second place.

Meanwhile, in Group B, Sweden beat Latvia 1-0 and temporarily topped the standings. As for the Latvians, this result finally put an end to the team’s plans to reach the playoffs. Now the US team will go there from fourth place.
