KHL clubs have abandoned the idea of introducing a three-point scoring system

KHL President Alexei Morozov, following the meeting of Fonbet clubs of the KHL Championship in Chelyabinsk, noted that club representatives had abandoned the idea of introducing a 3-point scoring system.

Currently, 2 points are awarded for a win in a KHL game and 1 for an overtime or shootout loss.

– Today we raised issues that concern us, and you, and the public. We talked about the financial stability of clubs. We have this year a 44% improvement in salary arrears. It’s a good indicator because of the current economic situation, the clubs are doing well. We will continue to improve in the future. At the moment, no one has any debts to the players.

We have two clubs that are below the salary cap. But they have until December 27 to improve this situation. We hope that this year no one will violate the salary cap and that this will not result in penalties under the regulations.

As you know, since this year the IIHF has not cooperated with us on the issue of doping control. But the league has signed an agreement with RUSADA, and since October 60 hockey players have already been tested. The cooperation continues.

Today we discussed the 3 point scoring system. We came to the conclusion that the current system works, the clubs like it, we decided not to change anything in this direction in the near future,” Morozov told reporters.
