Olympic ice hockey champion Jaromir Jagr played for the club for the first time this season “Kladno” who belongs to.
The 50-year-old hockey player had to take part in the Czech championship match against Liberec due to the fact that several hockey players in the team fell ill. Jagr spent just over 15 minutes on the ice and had two assists. The match ended with the defeat of Kladno with the score 3:7.
– When was it decided that I would play? It was not planned. When we learned that Liberec did not agree with the postponement of the match, we had ten players in training on Saturday – 12, and there was a threat of technical defeat. I didn’t want that to happen.
Will I continue to play? I didn’t count on it, I don’t know. One of our players broke his leg, was out for a month and a half. We have to deal with this somehow,” Jagr said as quoted by Sport.cz.
Kladno sits last in the Extraleague standings with 28 points.
Jagr won the Stanley Cup twice with the Pittsburgh Penguins, became an Olympic champion with the Czech Republic and a two-time world champion. In regular NHL championships, the striker played 1733 games, scored 1921 points (766 + 1155).
