President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation Vladislav Tretyak at a solemn ceremony in the Kremlin was awarded the Order of Alexander Nevsky. On this subject informed FHR press office.
The Order of Nevsky is awarded to citizens of Russia for special personal services to the Fatherland in state building, many years of conscientious service and high results achieved in the performance of their duties officials, including in strengthening the international prestige of Russia, as well as for high personal achievements in various fields of public utility activity.
– Russia is a sporting power. We organize many competitions, create conditions for our compatriots to do more sports, defend the country’s honor and be its patriots. I want to assure the President of the Russian Federation: the FHR will do everything to raise new Olympic champions, hockey players who will glorify our country,” Tretyak said in a response.
Tretyak has been the head of the FHR since 2006.
