Carolina coach called Kochetkov’s phenomenal game in NHL game with Detroit

Russian goalkeeper “Carolina” Petr Kochetkov showed an outstanding game in the NHL regular season game against “Detroit” said Hurricanes head coach Rod Brindamore.

“Carolina” beat Detroit 1-0 on the road on Tuesday, Kochetkov saved 27 shots and was named the game’s first star. For the 23-year-old goaltender, it is the second clean sheet in a row, having kept a clean sheet in a 3-0 win over the New York Islanders on December 10.

— It wasn’t our best game, that’s for sure, but our goalkeeper was great. Kochetkov has been phenomenal and I think that’s the biggest takeaway from recent games. He played very well,” Brindamore told the NHL website.

– Many players at different times helped us earn points. But the keeper was amazing. We know we didn’t show the best results, and yet we came away with two points,” said Carolina guard Brady Shay.

This season, Kochetkov has made 12 appearances, reflecting a 92.6% shooting average.
