Hockey player “Vanguard” Gritsyuk does not associate the drop in performance with the “second season syndrome”

Omsk Avangard striker Arseniy Gritsyuk said he did not attribute the drop in performance to the so-called “Second Season Syndrome”.

Gritsyuk has scored 22 (7+15) KHL regular season points this season. The striker has scored more than half of his goals this season in his last six games. In the 2021/22 season, Gritsyuk scored 28 points in the regular season and another 10 in the playoffs.

– It’s very nice that they took me to the national team with such statistics. You have to show yourself. I don’t think it’s some kind of second season syndrome. I just relaxed somewhere, and the last games show that if you can show your hockey, the statistics will improve,” Grytsyuk told reporters.

Maybe the new arena is to blame?

– We just spoke with Tolchinsky about this. They thought that for the first time I scored only two points at home, everything else – on the road. But in the last series scored well. I hope that the “place of power”, as it is called, will also give me strength.
