Athletistic/Hockey. Mark Howe, son of hockey great Gordie Howe, shared his thoughts on Ovechkin’s pursuit of Gretzky’s record.

“Records have to be broken and that’s challenge number two. Anytime you can beat Gordie Howe in anything I think that’s a big achievement. But I think with Alexander and the way he continues his career, I’m sure his goals are a bit higher.

But injuries could prevent Ovechkin from breaking the record. As long as Alex doesn’t have them he still has a passion for hockey, there’s no reason he can’t break Wayne’s record,” the young Howe said.
