Gordie Howe’s son hopes Ovechkin will beat his dad in goal without scoring in an empty net

Mark Howe, son of NHL legend Gordie Howe, has spoken out about the Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin already in the next games he can overtake his father in the list of the best snipers in the history of the NHL.

Ovechkin is the third-highest scorer in NHL history with 800 goals, Howe (801) is second and Wayne Gretzky (894) leads.

“I don’t want Ovi scoring 801 and 802 in empty nets. I wish these goals were worthy of TV replays. We will follow Ovechkin, – quote the words of Howe The Athletic.

Ovechkin has 20 goals and 16 assists this season.
