Defender of Metallurg Cody Curran considers it incredible that the 39-year-old goalkeeper of the Magnitogorsk club Vasily Koshechkin is in great shape at this age.
– I’m also an adult guy (laughs), but even younger than him. It’s amazing that he’s still playing. I can’t say that we have a close relationship with Vasily, I don’t know him well enough. But I see that he is constantly dedicated to his work and tries to control his body as much as possible. He works responsibly both on the rink and in the gymnasium. The guys told me about some of his records – it’s unusual. He’s had a few shutouts this season and continues to delight people.
Moreover, he is a very positive person, which also helps him to stay at a high level. He is very involved in all hockey processes. He is with the team all the time, although he does not participate in any particular training or recovery procedures. If the team is in the locker room, he is there; if the team is in the pool, he is there. He invests a lot in hockey, that’s why he plays like that,” Curran told the Championship.
This season, Koshechkin has played 14 games in which he has saved 328 shots and conceded 33 goals.
