Tyumen “Ruby” playing in the VHL, became the winner of the first-ever Union Cup for clubs from Russia and Belarus.
In the final of the tournament, which was held in the city of Zhlobin, Rubin defeated the current champion of Belarus, local Metallurg, with the score 3: 1. Pucks among the winners were scored by Nikita Popugaev, Dmitry Lyutov and Nikita Mokin.
Previously, Yunost Minsk won bronze in the tournament, beating Dynamo St. Petersburg (2:1) in the match for third place.
The main clubs of Belarus (champion and runner-up of the last national championship), as well as representatives of the All-Russian Hockey League (VHL) took part in the draw for the tournament.
