Athletic reporters have compiled a list of the most important NHL events this year.
In the nomination “the best moment” in the first place was the achievement of the captain of the “Washington Capitals” Alexander Ovechkin, the mark of 800 goals for his league career.
– Alex Ovechkin scored three times against Chicago to reach 800 goals. He scored a hat-trick and made history. Ovechkin joined Gordie Howe and Wayne Gretzky, the only players in NHL history to score 800 goals. The power forward has not yet finished – Howe’s record was already close, and now Gretzky’s record is online, the compilers of the list noted.
Ovechkin, who currently has 802 goals under his belt, is second only to Wayne Gretzky in goals (894).
