“I’m sure things will go uphill with Bilyaletdinov at Ak Bars” – Boris Mikhailov

Two-time Olympic champion Boris Mikhailov believes Ak Bars will be more successful under head coach Zinetul Bilyaletdinov.

On Tuesday, the Kazan club announced the return of Bilyaletdinov as head coach. Interim head coach Yuriy Babenko will be his assistant.

– I am sure that with Bilyaletdinov Ak Bars will rise. He has been a coach for many years. Bilyaletdinov is one of the most experienced Russian hockey coaches. I’m sure Ak Bars will rectify the situation and find his game, because there are masters. Just find the chemistry. I wish him all the best and success on this path,” Mikhailov told “Championship”.

Ak Bars is 7th in the Eastern Conference table with 49 points in 43 games. Bilyaletdinov previously managed Kazan twice from 2004 to 2011 and then from 2014 to 2019, winning the Gagarin Cup with the team three times and becoming Super League champions again.
