“Guarantees were needed, Traktor gave them.” Soshnikov explained the decision to continue his career in Chelyabinsk

Offensive Nikita Soshnikov who previously spoke for Islanders told Sport24 of his decision to pursue his career in “Tractor” .

The deal with the 29-year-old striker is calculated until the end of the 2023/24 season.

– They say you had several options in Russia, but you chose Traktor. Why?

– Personally, I did not communicate with anyone personally. The agents were engaged in this and they only gave me options. The most important thing is that I’m not just coming to finish the season. It’s hard to call my contract a long-term one, but I can’t be called a temp either. In general, the one-and-a-half-year deal – that was important to me. I didn’t want to carry my family with all their stuff on such a long trip, if it was only a few months. I’ve driven between Bridgeport and New York before. We needed guarantees for next season. “Tractor” gave them, offering an adequate contract.

In the Fonbet KHL Championship, Soshnikov previously played for Salavat Yulaev, CSKA and Avangard. In 253 games, he scored 138 (60+78) points.
