Sweden, Germany, Slovakia and Switzerland left the world championship

Today, May 26, matches were held in Helsinki and Tampere 1/4 finals of the Ice Hockey World Championship.

The first semi-finalist of the world championship was Czech Republicwhich had no problems in the match with Germany – 4:1.

Canada made an incredible comeback against Sweden. The reigning world champions were trailing 0-3 but equalized in the third period. In overtime, the victory for the Canadians was brought by an accurate throw by Drake Baterson.

Host of the World Cup Finland – won Slovakia — 4:2. Also reached the semi-finals of the tournament USAwho defeated Switzerland — 3:0.

In the 1/2 finals, Canada will play with the Czech Republic, Finland will meet with the USA. The matches of this stage of the tournament will be played on May 28. The final and match for third place will take place on the 29th.
