Pittsburgh Penguins forward Crosby wins Canada’s highest honor

NHL club forwardPittsburgh penguins » Sidney Crosby received the Order of Canada, according to the Governor General of Canada’s website.

The hockey player was on the list of 99 people who received the highest civilian honor in the country.

Crosby, 35, would have been honored for being “one of the greatest hockey players of all time and for supporting community initiatives for young people”.

Crosby was selected first overall in the 2005 NHL Draft by Pittsburgh. In the league, he played 1143 games, scored 1452 points (536 goals + 916 assists), became a three-time Stanley Cup winner (2009, 2016, 2017). As part of the Canadian team, he became double Olympic champion, world champion.
