The final matches of the group stage took place
On the ice hockey world championship in Tampere and Helsinki, the matches of the final round of the group stage were held.
Switzerland won the shootout Germany and finished first in Group A. Canada won big in the last round France (7:1).
Slovakia crushed Denmark (7:1) and reached the 1/4 finals of the world championship. The Danes took the fifth position and completed their performance at the tournament.
In group B, the next victories were obtained Sweden, USA and Finlandwho defeated Latvia (1:0), Norway (4:2) and Czech Republic (3:0) respectively.
As a result of the group stage, Switzerland, Germany, Canada, Slovakia, Finland, Sweden, the Czech Republic and the USA advanced to the quarterfinals of the world championship. Italy and Great Britain left the elite division.
The world championship in Finland will last until May 29. The current world champion is Team Canada.
