Russian and Belarusian athletes have received another blow in their careers due to the war unleashed by the leadership of these countries in Ukraine.

The International Ice Hockey Federation has continued the disqualification for the representatives of these countries and next year spectators will also not be able to see hockey players from Russia and Belarus at the World Championship. This is the official website of the IIHF.

It will be recalled that earlier the teams of these countries were suspended from international tournaments until September. Also earlier, the Russians were denied the right to host MFM-2023.

Now the Russian Federation has also been stripped of the adult world championship. St. Petersburg was supposed to host the championship, but now it will be replaced by the cities of Latvia and Finland – Riga and Tampere. The tournament will be held from 12 to 28 May 2023.
