“I won’t go to all of Ovechkin’s games until his 895th goal, but when he gets close to the record, I’d like to be there” – Gretzky

Top scorer in NHL history Wayne Gretzky noted that he expects to be present at the game in which the “Washington” striker Alexander Ovechkin beat his goalscoring record.

Ovechkin is the second leading scorer in NHL history. At the moment, he has 808 goals. Gretzky scored 894 goals during his NHL career.

“I won’t be going to all of Ovechkin’s games until his 895th puck, but when he gets close to the record, obviously I’d like to be there,” Gretzky told the NHL’s official website.
