The son of Valery Kharlamov: “My father was very fond of music and constantly brought vinyl records. ABBA, Boney M. still survive”

Alexander Kharlamov son of a two-time Olympic hockey champion Valeria Kharlamova told about his father’s love of music and vinyl records.

“My father was very fond of music. We have always played music in the car and at home. We had such a decent vinyl setup at home. There was also a tape recorder, but my father always brought vinyl records. ABBA, Boney M, they’ve survived to this day. And the song “Sing, guitar!” – this is a song not for listening at home, but for a restaurant or listening elsewhere, – said Alexander Kharlamov on the air of the program “Tous pour le match!”

Alexander Kharlamov also shared childhood memories of his father, noting that the family spent little time together.

“Unfortunately, guys of this generation spent very little time at home. Constant fees, games, contests. But when my father came home, it was the holidays. Immediately the house filled with friends, my father had many. He gave us as much attention as he could. Sometimes there was a few hours of free time or an overnight stay. People on 12 months of the 10th grade spent away from home. All life turned after the games. Wives went with their children to meet hockey players, or let them go for the night. And if they let go for a few days, it’s usually a big party, ”added Alexander Kharlamov.

Valery Kharlamov played for the USSR national team from 1969 to 1980 and managed to become a two-time Olympic champion and eight-time world champion. Competed in the Super Series in 1972 and 1974. In 1998 he was inducted into the IIHF (International Ice Hockey Federation) Hall of Fame. As part of CSKA Moscow, he became the champion of the USSR 11 times.
