Connor McDavid became the first NHL player in 27 years to score 80 points in 44 games (or fewer) in a single season. Prior to that, that mark had gone to Mario Lemieux (31 games), Jaromir Jagr (37) and Ron Francis (44). These results were obtained during the 1995/1996 season.
