Former strikerVancouver Gino Odzhik died at the age of 52, according to the team’s press service.
In 2014, doctors diagnosed Odjik with a protein metabolism disorder (amyloidosis).

Odjik played for Vancouver from 1990 to 1998. The hockey player was a badass and was considered a “bodyguard” for the Russian striker Pavel Bure . The players maintained friendly, off-ice communication. Odjik named one of his children after a Russian.
