Maple Leaves will play against Finland in the final match
In Finnish Tampere, the second semifinal match of the Ice Hockey World Championship took place, in which the national team Canada crushed Czech Republic with a score of 6:1.
The first period ended with a score of 1:1, after which, in the second segment of the game, the Maple Leaves took the lead and scored three unanswered goals. In the third period, the Canadians only increased their lead by scoring twice more.
In the final, Canada will play against the Finnish national team, which today beat the USA with a score of 4:3.
Previously, Claude Julien’s team finished third in Group A. Switzerland and Germany finished above Canada, while Slovakia, Denmark, France, Kazakhstan and Italy managed to get around the Maple Leaves. In the playoffs, the Canadians also beat Sweden 4-3.
The World Ice Hockey Championship final will be held in Tampere on May 29.
