Moscow Coach “Dynamo” Alexei Kudashov told Sport24 about the trends of the current season of the KHL Fonbet Championship.
– Another observation: the teams have started to play more offensive hockey, performance has increased. What do you associate it with?
“Hockey is constantly evolving. I won’t be surprised if next year everyone follows the example of Admiral, who is now earning points. But it must be understood that any coach bases himself on his composition and his abilities. I don’t think a coach, having offensive players, will play a clear setback. We have to find a cheaper and more efficient model to win. You can play well on offense and lose, or you can dig in defense and rise to the top of the leaderboard. As for the offensive hockey trend, I completely agree with you. And even “Admiral” attacks whenever possible, they just have a clear defense.
– Is it because everyone is used to small venues?
– Speed is gone. It is impossible to play defensively on small pitches because the puck moves very quickly from place to place.
After 51 matches, Dynamo are fifth in the Western Conference standings with 66 points.
