Ukraine destroyed Sweden in the third match at the Universiade

First win for the Blues and Yellows in the USA

Student national ice hockey team of Ukraine (U-25) crushed Sweden in the third match Universiade in the USA – 12:2.

Already by the seventh minute of the meeting, Ukraine was leading by four goals, but the first period ended with a score of 4:2. But in the next 40 minutes, the blue-yellows scored eight unanswered goals at the opponents’ goal.

At the start of the Universiade hockey tournament, Ukraine lost to Canada – 1:6. Also, the blue-yellows lost to Latvia in overtime (2:3). The triumph over Sweden was the debut for Vadim Shakhraichuk’s team in the USA.

In the standings, Ukraine is in third place with four points. Canada and the Czech Republic are ahead. The next opponent of Vadim Shakhraichuk’s team on January 19 will be Japan.

Two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs of the Universiade.
