As it became known from , Dmitry Kokorev will replace the retired Sergei Svetlov as head coach “Sochi” .
For the past four seasons, the 44-year-old Kokorev has worked as an assistant and then head coach for Captain Stupino, Sochi’s youth team in the MHL.
“Captain” is the first of the Western Silver Division. Kokorev should not only bring Sochi to the end of the championship, but also work on the vertical of the MHL-KHL club in order to preserve and develop the continuity of generations.
Sochi is expected to announce a new head coach tomorrow, and on Sunday Kokorev will lead the team to the Fonbet KHL Championship game against Spartak.
Sochi sits last, 11th in the KHL Western Conference with 21 points, 22 points behind tenth-place China Kunlun.
