Down-the-line.com/Hockey. The Vancouver Canucks have fired Bruce Boudreau as head coach, according to the club’s official website. His assistant Trent Kall is also retiring. Rick Tocquet has been named the team’s new head coach.

Tocquet became the 21st head coach in Vancouver history. Adam Foot has been named assistant coach, while Russian expert Sergei Gonchar will serve as defensive development coach.

“We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Bruce and Trent for their contribution to this team. We appreciate their dedication and wish them all the best for the future. It was not an easy decision, but we felt it was needed for the team,” said Vancouver Canucks general manager Patrick Alwyn.
