Orlov admitted he didn’t expect to miss 16 games with a minor injury

Russian defender “Washington Capitals” Dmitry Orlov told Sport24 about the injury, due to which he was forced to miss a month this season.

– For you, such a frenetic schedule is more practical, but holidays during the season, or when the matches are better distributed?

Holidays are always holidays (laughs). It’s always nice to take a break from hockey during the season. This year has a very busy schedule. It seems to me that we have already played the most games this year, well, certainly in the top 3 leagues by this indicator. Not so easy.

But I also missed a month, although the injury was not very serious. Somewhere something clogged up and there was a muscle spasm. I know that with age you need to take more care of yourself and devote more time to massages, stretching, yoga. In general, it turned out strange with the injury: I thought it would be one or two days, but in the end I missed 16 games.

– What kind of damage was it?

Just a muscle spasm. Nothing supernatural. Somehow he got stuck and didn’t want to let go. Thankfully, it’s passed, and now there’s nothing to worry about. It’s a shame to miss a month. At that time, I didn’t understand what was happening to my body.

This season, Orlov has played 33 games and scored (3+13) 16 points.
