The percentage of use of domestic products in professional leagues of Russia is incredibly low, only a few players of KHL, MHL and WHL use Zaryad sticks, says the CEO of the Russian Hockey Federation (FHR) Dmitry Kurbatov .
On Monday, the State Duma of the Russian Federation is holding a round table on the topic “Problems and prospects for the development of the national sports industry in modern conditions.”
– What is good about us? I can say that children’s sports are supplied with national products, we have no big problems here. Moreover, for several years, even before any sanction, our teams were equipped with flexible equipment of national production. Game sweaters are made in Russia, in this sense we were ready, everything works well here.
But when it comes to equipment for professionals, which is used in KHL, MHL, WHL games, there is a very low percentage of use of domestic goods. Some guys play with “Charge” clubs, but there are very few of them. The issue here is not certification, but product quality. Everything else – protection, helmets, skates, etc. – is an import. And this happens according to the schemes that have already been called today. We are ready to cooperate, ready to give terms of reference, but so far there is none,” Kurbatov said at the meeting.
