Moscow hosted the solemn ceremony of awarding the Own Track award, one of the winners of which was the President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation Vladislav Tretyak .
The organizing committee of the prize particularly underlined “fidelity once and for all to the chosen path”, as well as Tretiak’s many years of work in the interests of national hockey.
The prestigious “Own Track” award was created by the Vladimir Vysotsky Charitable Foundation and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, it is awarded to people who do not change their beliefs, to whom Vladimir Vysotsky could dedicate his song. The ceremony takes place every year at the end of January.
“Vladimir Vysotsky is one of the greatest Russian poets, a man-symbol of an entire era”, reports the correspondent. – I had the chance to communicate closely with Vladimir Semenovich. During my playing career, I was a Komsomol organizer in the USSR national team and CSKA. Inviting honored guests, meeting hockey players with famous people all over the country – these were pleasant tasks, unforgettable impressions. Vysotsky has always been one of our team’s most valued guests. And I have always been delighted with the songs and acting work of Vladimir Semenovich at the Taganka Theater. I went to all the performances with her participation, among which were masterpieces – “Hamlet” with Vysotsky in the title role, “Ten days that shook the world.”
And, of course, invited him to our games. Not everyone knows that in his youth Vysotsky wanted to be a hockey player. He told me about it himself – and pointed out that when planning a sports career, he only considered hockey for himself!
Becoming a laureate of the prize created in memory of Vysotsky is a great honor for me. I share this award with my entire team. With the “red machine” – the great team of the Soviet Union, in which we played, glorifying national hockey and our motherland.
