It’s hard for me to talk about myself. When I first joined the team and played on the fourth line, I felt comfortable. I wouldn’t say that I was in the team’s backyard then. Then I started playing more. Your position in the team does not depend on who is and who is not. You cannot run away yourself. You always try to do your best no matter who is around.
– Do you often speak in the locker room?
I wouldn’t say often. When there is something to say. I am simply not a supporter of any slogan and only speak for the sake of speaking.
– I heard you have a really nice team together this year and it’s different than it was before.
– In Ufa, the team has always been friendly. Maybe he became special because there were no more guys who only spoke English. The Finns were nice, friendly guys, there’s no question. It’s just that when you speak a different language, you will communicate more with each other. Vitya Tikhonov spent more time with them. It is clear that there was a difference in mentality, there was a language barrier. But that doesn’t mean there were conflicts or that the guys were bad. Everything was fine. This factor has now disappeared. The same Sasha Khmelevsky speaks Russian.
