President of the Continental Hockey League (KHL ) Alexei Morozov said he saw no point in dropping the idea of writing the names on hockey players’ jerseys in Latin and switching to Cyrillic because of the tournament’s international format.
In the KHL, they switched to Latin from the 2010/11 season.

We don’t see the point of it. The KHL is still an international league with foreign clubs and players. Our matches are broadcast in different countries. Therefore, we believe that the spelling of surnames on sweaters should remain in Latin, RB Sport quote Morozov.
