HC Interim Head Coach “Sochi” Dmitry Kokorev criticized the striker Matvey Michkov for two straight eliminations, which led to goals against the team.
On Thursday, Sochi lost to Vityaz in the KHL Championship Fonbet away match (1:5). Michkov received the first out of that game, and when Vityaz converted it, he immediately received another two penalty minutes for “unsportsmanlike behavior and insulting the referees”. The hosts continued to play in the majority and scored another goal.
– Michkov no longer had the right to retire. We will deal with him, we will talk.
– There was no thought after Sochi conceded twice due to Michkov’s dismissals, to release him in the minority? To make him feel what it’s like to play “4 against 5” and go under the pucks?
– We thought about something else, actually. They said to Matthieu: get better! He helped to score a goal, but it didn’t work more,” the correspondent quoted Kokorev as saying.
Michkov started the season in the SKA system, but at the end of December he moved to Sochi. Because of his six goals in the southern team.
