Lehtonen was recognized as the best defender, Chervenka – the best forward
Finland goalkeeper Jussi Alkinuora recognized 2022 Ice Hockey World Championship MVP.
At the home world championship, 31-year-old Alkinuora played eight matches. He averaged 1.11 goals per game and saved 94.8% of his shots. In four fights Jussi played “to zero”.
Alkinuora was also voted the best goalkeeper in the World Cup. Finn Mikko Lehtonen was recognized as the best defender, and the Czech Roman Cervenka was recognized as the best forward.
Representatives of four countries were included in the symbolic team of the 2022 World Cup:
Goalkeeper: Jussi Olkinuora (Finland);
Defenders: Mikko Lehtonen (Finland), Seth Jones (USA);
Forwards: Roman Cervenka (Czech Republic), Pierre-Luc Dubois (Canada), Sakari Manninen (Finland)

In the final of the World Cup, Finland defeated Canada (4:3) in overtime. Suomi won the championship title for the fourth time in history.
