The head coach CSKA Sergei Fedorov believes that the army team lost “Barysu” in Fonbet’s home game of the KHL Championship (5:6 OT) due to errors in their zone, when they themselves gave the puck to the opponent.
The army team led three times during the game, but couldn’t keep the advantage.
– We played fast, super, with the puck, it turned out to score. Until the third period, they controlled the game, despite small errors in defense. Then they started to give the puck to the opponent in their zone. Barys finished them with goals and we went to extra time. We lost in position and scored one more goal. They couldn’t bring the case to victory, although they had every chance.
The guys played the right game, but it didn’t work individually. The most unhealthy thing is that when we conceded goals, we had the puck. It’s the most frustrating thing. If we hadn’t possessed and the opponent had beaten us, that would have been a different story. And then we clearly have the puck in our zone, we look forward on the field, the attackers are open for a pass. And then we make unnecessary gestures and we lose the puck in favor of our blue line. And we get three goals for that. It is complicated. Nothing, we will fix the problem and fix everything,” the correspondent said, quoting Fedorov.
CSKA is third in the KHL Western Conference standings with 81 points.
