Offensive Bo Horvath signed an eight-year agreement with New York Islanders according to the team’s press office.
The former Vancouver captain will earn $8.5 million per year for a total of $68 million under the contract.
The Islanders traded Horvath, 27, from Vancouver in late January during the NHL All-Star Game, he was already representing his new team. The Canadian’s previous deal was calculated until the end of the current season, where he has yet to play a single time for the New York club.
During his NHL career, Horvath only played for Vancouver. This season, he scored 54 (31+23) points in 49 matches.
