Caprices on a scoreless streak after a new contract with Minnesota: “Everyone wrote about it. I tried to ignore it and play hockey.”

Forward “Minnesota » Russian Kirill Kaprizov spoke about difficulties negotiating a contract with the club, as well as an NHL scoreless streak that occurred immediately after the deal was signed.

Last fall, Kaprizov signed a contract with Minnesota that will pay him $45 million over five years.

– What were the main contradictions of the new contract?

– There were shortcomings, something did not suit us a little, “Minnesota” too. I don’t know why it dragged on… or rather I know, but I don’t want to say it. I’m glad everything worked out: in the end I was happy, and Minnesota, ”Kaprizov said at a press conference at the press center.

— Are there any pressures related to the new contract?

– When the season started, I couldn’t score, so everyone was constantly writing about it. I read the news, watched, they said: here Kaprizov cannot score, the new contract affects him. I tried not to pay attention, I stopped reading the news. I understood that there were 70 more games in the championship, I had to forget everything and start playing hockey. And then it broke.

In the first round of the Stanley Cup, Minnesota lost to St. Louis 2-4 in the series. Kaprizov, 25, scored 108 points (47+61) in the regular season, had 7 goals and 1 assist in the playoffs.
