Metallurg has extended the contract with Koshechkin, 39, recognized as the best goalkeeper in the Gagarin Cup final

Magnitogorsk press service “Metallurgist” announced the extension of the contract with the goalkeeper

The new deal with the 39-year-old goalkeeper runs until the end of the 2022/23 season. Last season, Koshechkin was recognized as the best goalkeeper in the Gagarin Cup final.

Koshechkin has been playing in the Magnitogorsk club since 2013, as part of Magnitogorsk he won the Gagarin Cup twice (2014, 2016).

He was also named Gagarin Cup Finals MVP in 2017. Last season, Koshechkin played his 500th game for Metallurg, which became the 100th clear round. Later, Koshechkin passed the milestone of 300 victories in the Magnitogorsk team.

The hockey player is the owner of the longest “dry” streak in the history of the Gagarin Cup final – 156 minutes and 34 seconds.
