first coach Nikita Kucherov And Nikita Gusev Gennady Kurdin responded to an incident at the Silver Sharks children’s hockey team before the match with the Vympel club.
According to the Mutko Against Telegram channel, a knife attack took place in Moscow in the locker room of the Silver Sharks children’s hockey team, born in 2008. The conflict occurred between 14-year-old teammates: one guarded the locker room door, not letting the second in. The hockey player pulled the gate, and his teammate – “the author of the joke” – hit the wall. Then the hockey player holding the door took a knife and stabbed his teammate’s leg. The hockey player was rushed to hospital.
“What’s reported in the news is a nightmare,” Kurdin replied. – But I have a question right away: where was the coach? Why wasn’t he in the locker room at the time?
You know, I remember the tragedy that happened six years ago in Podolsk. I was just working at Vityaz at the time. And in the children’s team, where 14-year-olds also worked, a tragedy happened. One boy pushed another, and young hockey player Ilya Solnyshkin from St. Petersburg ended up dead. And his trainer Vyacheslav Kurochkin ended up behind bars.
The story was sensational, but it underlined the rule that I practice: the coach must always be in the dressing room with the guys before and after the match in order to control their behavior. It is necessary not to sit in the coaching room, but to watch how someone behaves in order to avoid a bad situation.
It doesn’t surprise me that a knife appeared in the hockey locker room. There are many times when you need to cut the stick wrap to do something with ammo. This is a household appliance for a hockey player. But why did one guy rush with a knife at another? The second point that I always pay attention to is that a coach should not only teach children to play hockey, but also educate them. Respect should be instilled in partners, adults, guys should be polite and correct in life. And if one sticks a knife in the leg of another, what respect can one speak of?
Director of the school “Silver Sharks” – Alexander Cherbaev. The team born in 2008 is coached by Nikolai Ignatov and Mikhail Mitkin.
