“We try to minimize the inconvenience for our fans” – Matytsin about Fan ID

Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Oleg Matytsin spoke at the opening ceremony of the International Young Olympians Forum, which takes place in Moscow on June 1, and said in particular that the ministry was working to minimize any inconvenience to fans related to the introduction of a fan ID (Fan ID) at sporting events.

The Fan ID law came into effect on June 1. On December 30, 2021, the law on the introduction of the FAN ID was signed. The document introduces the concept of a “personalized card to attend a sporting event”.

I have already said everything on this subject. We are negotiating with all stakeholders to minimize inconvenience to our fans. Fan identification will be mandatory from next season, but not at all stadiums, Matytsin said.

Previously, supporters of some RPL clubs had announced a boycott of matches where an electronic spectator identification system would be used.
